24 Port Hubs: Netgear vs Linksys

Tags: , , , , ,

If you have been looking around at 24 Port Hubs for either your home or small business on the net you have probably come across network hubs from manufacturers such as Netgear and Linksys.  These are two of the top brands and this article is a comparison between the two.

Some advantages of the Netgear 24 Port Hub over the Linksys 24 Port Hub are that the Netgear Hub is more compliant to current standards and it has more status indicators incase there is a need for troubleshooting.  The Netgear Hub is not rackmountable, however, and this can serve as a problem if you are setting up a rackmount server group or if you are adding the hub to another existing hub of a different brand.  The Linksys 24 Port Hub is rackmountable and can be mixed and matched with other brands.  Both of these hubs offer high-speed 100Base-TX and the older 10Base-T speeds so that new and old computers can work together.

Generally both companies are at the top of the networking food chain and will not give you many problems as far as quality and reliability.  A 24 Port Hub is the perfect solution for your home or office network. So whether you decide on a Netgear Hub or a Linksys Hub you will surely not be disappointed.
